Some parts cannot be made complete due to the complexity of the shape or because they made need something inserted into them that  would be damaged by the moulding process. In which case moulding the parts separately and joining them is often the most economic solution.

When that is the case probably the strongest way to join the parts is to ultrasonically weld them together.

With ultrasonic welding the parts are joined by being vibrated against each other at very high frequencies causing a localized build up of heat and melting the plastic at selected points. The parts are then squashed together at high pressure producing a strong welded joint.
